Tag Similar (Desktop and Advanced Editor)

Modified on Sat, 14 Jun, 2025 at 10:50 AM

This feature is ideal for quickly assigning the same heading level to text with similar attributes (font, color, size, etc.).

Here are the steps for using Tag Similar:

  1. Tag the first instance of the particular heading level.
  2. Right-click on the heading tag (or otherwise open its context menu) and choose “Tag similar” (or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+F5).
An H2 tag is selected, the context menu is open, and the option to Tag similar is highlighted.
  3. Choose the page range (or all pages) as needed.
  4. Navigate to the Affected Elements panel and click (or arrow) down through the list of heading tags making sure that text was correctly tagged.  (If text that is not a heading is incorrectly placed in a heading tag due to its font characteristics convert the tag, move the text, etc. as needed.)
Tag Similar has been run and the Affected Elements panel is open, displaying a list of H2 tags. The corresponding text is highlighted in the physical view.
