What is Multifactor Authentication (MFA)?
Multifactor Authentication is implemented to keep your account, and your information, safe and secure. By requiring you to enter a code, that is emailed to you, other people will not be able to log into your account (unless, of course, they can access your email to get your code). This helps to keep your account, and your documents, safe and secure.
Who is impacted by the implementation of MFA?
When the web-based CommonLook PDF software was originally launched, we did not have MFA implemented. So, if you got access to the software before we implemented MFA, you will not be required to "authenticate" with a code. All new users, after MFA was enabled, will have MFA turned on by default, meaning that you'll need to enter your code to login.
Can I have MFA turned on, if I want to?
Yes. We can turn on MFA for existing users. Send an email to support@allyant.com requesting that we turn on MFA for your web-based CL PDF account. (You can also request this from the Support screen in the web-based CL PDF interface!)
Can I have MFA turned off?
Yes, we can turn off MFA for you, if you would like us to. Of course, keep in mind that this is reducing your level of security in the system. However, if you want us to turn it off for you, we can. Send an email to support@allyant.com requesting that we turn off MFA for your web-based CL PDF account. (You can also request this from the Support screen in the web-based CL PDF interface!)
Are there other ways to "authenticate," other than by email?
Currently, email authentication is our "default." In the future, we may support SMS or "Authenticator App" verification, too.
