HHS Standard Checkpoint Failures – Dictionary Checkpoints (Desktop and Advanced Editor)

Modified on Sat, 14 Jun, 2025 at 10:57 AM

The HHS 2018 Standard has two specific checkpoints (A11 and I3) that check to ensure all the words and phrases in the document are formatted correctly by comparing them with words in your computer’s dictionary.  Unfortunately, it is common that documents that are required to comply with the HHS 2018 standard are often filled with medical terminology and names that probably aren’t included in your dictionary.  When a word or phase in your document is not found in the dictionary, it will become a failure in the verification.  If you know the word or phrase is spelled correctly, then you can easily add it to your dictionary by using the Fix Wizard in CL PDF.  This can benefit you in the long run because, when you add the word to the dictionary, they will no longer be flagged as failing either of these two checkpoints.

Follow These instructions to add the failed words or phrases to your dictionary.

  1. Double click on the Failure, or right-click and choose Fix.
  2. In the “Fix options” menu, ensure "Add word to dictionary" is chosen as your "Fix option."
  3. Select Finish
